About Speak Up Language
We believe every child can build their English skills when they have the chance to listen, speak, play, and use the language naturally in everyday life.
Speak Up Language was created to help parents bring international-school learning ideas into the home — without needing to send their child to an international school.
Meet Kathy
Hello! I'm Kathy, founder of Speak Up Language and a Parent English Coach.
I graduated in English and have more than 10 years of experience in international-school environments — in education, learning support, and working alongside foreign teachers.
I've taught languages to learners of many ages, including bringing Phonics and activity-based learning into my teaching.
But what helps me truly understand parents' worries doesn't come from my work experience alone — it also comes from my own story.

Our Story
“I studied English for so many years — so why, when I actually had to speak, couldn't the words come out?”
That's the question I once asked myself.
Even after more than 20 years of learning English and graduating in English, whenever I had to communicate with foreigners, I felt scared, worried about making mistakes, and unsure of myself.
Then I started working with foreigners and had the chance to learn how international schools teach.
I began to notice that children learned language by listening, playing, asking questions, and communicating in real situations — rather than starting by memorising grammar rules.

“English doesn't have to start with saying every word correctly. It starts with the courage to communicate.”
When I brought this approach to my own two children — through conversation, stories, games, and everyday activities — they grew to use English confidently and naturally.
From someone who was afraid to speak English, to a mother who helps her children truly use it.
Our Mission
Seeing the change in my children, I wanted to share this approach with parents who worry, “My English isn't good enough — how can I teach my child?”
Speak Up Language was born from the goal of giving parents the knowledge, tools, and confidence to create an English-speaking environment at home.
We believe getting started doesn't have to be difficult or time-consuming.
Just 10–15 minutes a day of conversation, stories, games, and age-appropriate activities, done consistently, can give your child more chances to learn and use English in real life.
Our goal isn't only for children to speak English — it's to help both parents and children find the courage to learn and communicate together.
